Stevedoring Arrangements Non-exclusive licences are issued to stevedoring companies wishing to provide services at the Port of Geraldton. Labour engaged vessel and shore side is employed by the licenced stevedores. These licenced stevedores are required to provide a continuous service to meet the customers needs.
The Geraldton Port Authority can initially facilitate contact/arrangements between customers and licenced stevedores but cannot nominate use of one particular stevedore over another. Customers then need to contact the stevedores and make their own stevedoring arrangements according to their operational requirements and type of cargo being handled.
The Authority monitors the performance of the licenced stevedores through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) contained within the licence document, including operational procedures, continuity of service, customer satisfaction and improvement in stevedoring practices.
